Winter 2010 Fish Committee Report
U.S. Fish and Wildlife will plant large mouth bass and walleye in Legend Lake in 2011. The exact number will be determined by the hatch in their hatcheries this spring. As these fish will not be a cost for the Fish Committee, it was deiced that we should work on habitat improvement. There are no rock reefs where fish can spawn. Working with Donald Reiter, Tribal Fish Biologist there will be an attempt to develop two rock reefs in Legend Lake. If that fails, option 2 may be fish cribs.

Fall 2010 Camping Committee Report
Where has the summer gone?
The weather was superb, and we were able to enjoy the lake immensely, other than the gypsy moth time period. It’s back to school and fall is here; however, now we have a bit of work to do.
Camping & Portable Structures
Campers - Must be removed by October 14. After that, if you want to camp, equipment must come with you and leave with you. It can not be left.
Portable Structures – Can be put up again Labor Day weekend. Portable Structures are allowed up until Memorial Weekend, and all setback requirements must be met.
These regulations are available for review on our website www.legendlake.info or call the Lodge Office with questions.
Hope you had a great summer,
Tim Guzek Chair, Camping Committee
Summer 2010 Beach Club Committee Report
At this writing the ice has not quite melted off the lake yet, but I can tell that spring is almost here. April 1 is next Wednesday and there are a number of people that I have not seen for a while up and trimming/cutting trees before the April 1 deadline.
Seeing much yard work around the area as well, plus snowmobiles are being replaced by jet skis and boats of all different shapes and sizes towed behind vehicles and trucks.
Although the Legend Lake Maintenance Crew is not back from their winter’s lay off, I am getting calls and messages regarding individual concerns about out lot water front areas and work in those areas. Not too many requests have been made, but they are beginning to come in.
Lumber was purchased at the close of last year, so we are ready to begin work repairing fences and building picnic tables.
I have visited most out lot water front properties, identifying projects to work on.
We purchased a new tractor this year, so cutting and trimming should not fall subject to tractor repairs.
We should be ready and on our way. I am requesting that the constituents of Legend Lake assist. Things will be getting very busy very soon. At the same time, requests will begin coming in. I am requesting that requests be made in writing at the Legend Lake Lodge so we may prioritize and set up a schedule of when things need to be done where. We would also have the information we need to contact the individual making the request in case of problems or delays or clarifications.
Next, please review the specific guidelines previously established for the use and sharing of out lot water front properties, fishing regulations, boating regulations and restrictions, watering during drought conditions, clearing of shoreline plants, fertilizing and so on.
Whether we are here for a weekend, a month, summer or live here full time, all will benefit if we include consideration of the land, water, air, and other people in our activities.

Building & Grounds Committee
I have taken over the Chairman position for Building & Grounds, Forestry & Outlots and Purchasing. These three positions give me the ability to see the great work Rick, Wayne and Mark do for all of us who use the LLPOA properties. Please make an effort to thank them for this and at the very least give them a friendly wave; and when you are at the Lodge Office give Thomas and Lisa a big smile and thank you also.
Remember that these are the people who hear mostly complaints from everyone. They do not get to see all of us at our best behavior having fun at Legend Lake.
Thank you,
Daniel W. Hedrich
Chair, Building & Grounds Forestry & Outlots Purchasing
